Never Stop Creating — Steel Banglez

Scarlett interfaces have enabled millions of musicians, songwriters, and producers to record, mix, and play back audio in studio-quality worldwide and have become the interface of the people. If you’re an artist starting out, developing your skills, or even touring, chances are you’ve recorded with a Scarlett. For this spotlight we feature Steel Banglez, a music producer and artist that uses Scarlett for his recordings.

Born to Sikh Punjabi parents, Banglez grew up in a creative household proud of its roots. He spent the first half of the 2010s as an underground rap producer and then set out to conquer the clubs, teaming up with MIST to produce the anthems ‘Karla’s Back’ and ‘Ain’t the Same’. Due for release early 2022, Steel Banglez’s debut album The Playlist will feature 27 tracks including the already released Banglez Ting with Giggs and Blama with Tion Wayne and Morrisson.

He has always seen music as an emotional journey. “I always look for an artistic and spiritual perspective to create music,” he comments. “I’m in my temple and it’s a prayer. Making something — it’s like a ritual.”

For Banglez, capturing the feelings of an artist is the key to great music. Scarlett interfaces ensure an accurate recording and are at the heart of Banglez’ studio equipment. As he explains, “When you can unlock the true emotion of the artist on the day, how they’re feeling – then I can produce a record based on that.”

He has a message for artists considering what interface to use. “Focusrite is the birth of a journey of most people. What a lot of people don’t understand is Focusrite is responsible for a lot of hit records, because wherever you’ll start from to get our buzz… we don’t have mad expensive studio equipment and so it’s a tool that’s always been part of greatness.”
